Been a while

So, Once again it has been a while since I have written in here. 3.5 months to be more accurate. Sorry about that, though I have noticed that the majority of people have stopped posting here due to the increasing popularity of myspace and facebook. i have a facebook account but do not ever see myself getting a myspace. I tend to do more schoolwork and work work on the computer rather than funwork, if you will.

Life has been going pretty well for me. It has been having its ups and downs - but overall I must realize that God has blessed me beyond my own imagination and I am lookin forward to what He will continue to do. What things have changed:

in chronological order:
1) I got a 2nd job - graphic design intern
2) I went on a long bike ride alone with a guy.
3) I had a guy tell me that he likes me and is interested in me.
4) I started dating a guy.
5) I have spent lots of time with this guy - Ryan.
6) All my family holidays are spent at someone's apartment - no houses.

God is good. Change is hard, but yet so exciting. God is love. God guides - He asks us to take up our cross daily and follow Him.

Live life fully, act thoughtfully, don't regret - just live on!

FIRE CRAZINESS!!

It certainly has been a while since I wrote in here but I thought this was a story worth sharing.

I am sleeping at my parents apartment tonight b/c there was a fire on my floor this evening. More details?... Here goes!!

About 9:15 or so I heard fire trucks. In the city this is a common thing and I didn't think a thing of it. Then while I was watching a movie I heard a loud truck outside my window. And it has to be pretty loud for me to hear it on the 9th Floor. So, I looked out the window, saw the truck and thought that there must be a medical emergency. Then I saw them pulling out the water hoses and connecting them to the fire hydrants. It was then I decided I should figure out what was going on. I went to my door and heard my neighbor in the hallway say, "We should knock on everyone's door and get them outside!" So, still quite calmly and not alarmed, I gathered my Photo ID's, keys, and phone and walked out into the hallway to come face to face with a rather large (muscle-wise) man dressed up in all the fireman garb. He said we should make our way down the stairs, so down I went after noticing that the entire other half of the 9th floor was completely consumed in smoke. So much so that I could only hear the fire fighter that wasn't more than 10 feet into the smoke.

I made my way down the stairs and outside, noticed that the fire alarms were only going off in the 4th floor and below, called my parents to let them know what was going on and then waited it out.

I never heard the fire alarms, no one on the 7th-12th floors did. A few had their sprinklers go off. Needless to say the Deputy Fire Chief was not happy. He got all our names and apartment numbers and from what I can tell there will definately be repercussions later on. One guy in an apartment close to mine said this happened twice last summer. Odd I say, though apparently the fire alarms worked then.

At about 10:00 they let everyone on the 1-6th floor go up to their apartments, but no one else. At about 10:45 the 7th, 8th, 10-12th floors were able to go up b/c all the smoke had been cleared and water damage was minimal. However, my floor --the smokey side has about 5 inches of water sitting in the rooms and hallway. The fire started in the trash room. We'll see if I go there anytime soon.

I must count my blessings that my sprinkler systems is rumored to be on another line and I probably don't have any damage. After they said it would be about 2 hrs before anyone could go to the 9th floor I decided to go to my parents and sleep for a few hrs.

That is where I am now, but I am uneasy not having been in my apartment yet since this began. I have class at 8:30 in the morning and I was in my PJ's before this all started. I clearly have to go back, but I am not looking forward to it.

I hope you all had a better nights sleep

It has been over a month since I updated.

I have been working full time.
I have been mtn biking--lots of fun!! Did a couple 24 hour races and such.

I am taking two classes online for school so that I can graduate next spring.

Thanks to all of you who stay faithful in your updates. I know I am not too good at it. Don't really know if it makes a difference if I do update.
I am living in the city--learning to adjust to it. It has many enjoyable qualities, but I do like the country.

have a wonderful evening!

Well--it has certainly been a while since I logged on and wrote a comment.  Sorry to any who may have been wondering what's up?  I have moved into the city and have been here for almost a month.  I spend little time in my apartment due to work and school and homework that usually keeps me in the lab until 10 at night.  I have gotten used to being away from the apartment for about 14 hours a day. Life is different living in the city, but I will have to say that I really like living on Front street. For those of you who are not familiar with the city--front street runs along the river and there is a 5 mile foot path made available to runners, walkers, rollerblades, bikes, etc. I really enjoy that part.  It is nice being so close to school, but then it means I am far from Hanover--but such is life. Two of my close friends just graduated college and I will get to see them Saturday. I am greatly excited about that!!

What else is giong on in my life?
I received a scholarship that will cover a good bit of my schooling next year.
I got first place in the student honors show in the drawing category.
I finish up this semester on Tuesday with 3 final exams and making a book.
I am looking forward to having a lot of fun this summer!!

that's all for now folks--have a great day.

Here is some interesting things you might enjoy knowing about our family.
Most of this has been in the thinking for a while(not all of it) and the rest has just been put into place by God's plan.

I will be moving into my own apartment 8 minutes from school, just a few blocks from the capitol building and the apartment my parents are moving into. It is also just a few blocks from the river!!! That means I will be able to bike and run by the river!!

Interesting thing to note, within my direct family we are moving a lot!!

Seth moved into his own apartment March 1st.
Joe and Rachel and little Elizabeth are moving into their apartment April 1st.
Dad and Mom have put our house on the market and will be moving MAy 1st.
I will be sticking with the house until it sells and/or moving into my apartment June 1st.
Ruth will be flying home for Easter to pack up her things and throw away what is not needed and that will likely be the last time she sleeps in her childhood home. She will then be moving in with my brother come summertime.

My, My how God puts things into place and organizes our lives. All the apartments our family members are moving into happened by God's design without a doubt. He is certainly a great God to serve!!

God Bless you All!
